All About This Writing Community?

Welcome to a sunni Muslim writers’ community, a group exclusively for Muslim writers and poets that follow the sunnah traditions of the Prophet (SAW), or more specifically, the believers of ahlul-sunnah wal jama’ah. My reason for starting such a community was the absence of it in other traditional writing groups online and offline, I have seen and been a part of writing communities that are predominantly muslim but chose to write like the non-believers, contented with their progressive and liberal writing. They write with complete disregard for religion and sometimes write inappropriate content as part of their creative expression. 

What is life without true Islam, and what is being a Muslim without adhering to the rules of Islam? As Muslims, we are bound by the Quran and Sunnah, and our writings and other actions should reflect that, ergo, this community is not for preaching, you can write a normal poem or blog post, it doesn’t have to be islamic poems and so on. 

It really is just a community for writers, you can write about the trees, the sky, everyday life, learn from the community, participate in contests and competitions, win prizes, write poems about pain or loss or grief or joy, and not attribute it or relate it to Islam, it is fine, but to write and advocate for the other side, it is not welcome. 

The objective is not to post islamic reminders, lecture videos and so forth, not directly anyways, if you want to remind others, in this group you express it creatively, in like a poem or ballad. 

What Is Our Objective? 

To bring a unique gathering of poets and writers who share halal content. Who engage in contests and literary challenges, organise meetups, but most importantly, defend the Muslims from injustice with their prowess in writing. 

Basically a writing community, but halal version insha’Allah. 

This is a community of defenders, and guardians of the Muslim honour and faith. 

We have four main objectives;

1. 1. Defend the Muslim honour as poets and writers. 

1. 1. Learn freelance writing in all its forms and shapes, such as copywriting, social media marketing and so on. 

1. 1. Participate and win prizes in contests and writing challenges. Keeps you sharp as a writer, and so engaged. 

1. 1. It is a society for gentlemen and ladies, this means we will respect and advocate great dress codes in our meetups and outside of it, and act like intelligent Muslims alongside the modern world, educated, moral, manly, faithful inshaAllah, and behave with etiquette. 

From there we can be as flexible as we can.

Anyone can join, but only content that is relevant to the sunnah is allowed to be posted (halal), and they must adhere to the rules and terms of the group. 

I also purposely left out a name for the writing community, it doesn’t have a name now, the community’s name is something I am happily keeping secret, I wish to announce the name during the formal launch of the community insha’Allah. Isn’t anticipation exciting?
